-what is the problem being discussed?
Condolezza Rice was being protested against. She had spoken at a graduation and everyone seemed to be outraged in which sparked a protest.
What is each speakers position and argument? Hannity is the main speaker and his position was liberal vs conservative, Almend's position is that he is a liberal and is also the one being interviewed based on the initial problem, inwhich he is against the issue. Colmes position is that he questions Almends response.
Do any of the speakers move away from the issue at hand?
-cite examples (write what question was/answer/analogies)
Yes, Hennity asks Almend about his voting record. Almend also avoids a new question being asked and tries to go back to the original question. Colmes proposes a possible solution.
Do any of the seapkers employ logical fallacies?(which ones) Party association based on likes and dislike somewhat employed a logical falacie. Steve Almend was attacked by Hannity which makes another logical fallacie.
Identify who steve almend is and what his level of authority is on this topic.
Steve Almend is a guest on the news show being broadcasted. He was a professor at Boston college and is also a writer. It is pretty obvious that he did not have that much authority on the topic because the other men would somewhat talk over him. Showing that his answers or inputs didn't matter.
Was this an effective argument? Why or why not? No, because there are many sides of the argument and get off topic of the argument. The argument seemed to be all over the place.
